Waiting Impatiently

I see you walking by again
without a thought without a glance
oh Lord give me some patience
I still have a long time to wait
wait for you to smile at me
wait for you to look at me
incredibly, amazingly, despicably, irritably
long, I have to wait
to love out loud.
I wait for miles to hear from you
I wait for days just to see you
out of the corner of my eye
looks like time forgot how to fly
and I'm still waiting an
utterly, unusually, deceivingly, improperly
long time just to speak of love.
Lord calm my breathing, thoughts, and heart
from rushing by like humming birds
I don't know how to make it to that day
when my heart can melt away
but I still have to wait
improbably, shockingly, questionably, preposterously
long, I have to wait to love out loud.
